Working Groups



Below, you can find a list of active working groups or in formative stage. Any LABI member can join one or more of them. If you wish to join a working group, please, email latambioimaging@gmail.com with your personal information and interests.


Training and Education

This group is responsible for developing and promoting training and education activities in bioimaging in the Latin American region.
Objectives
  • Coordinate training and education activities in the region to be the reference for regional networks and societies.
  • Improve the technical and scientific skills of imaging scientists and students, creating educational resources and programs.
  • Facilitate the exchange of experience and knowledge among Imaging Scientists in Latin America.
  • Accelerate the application of imaging technologies in biomedical research through focus training and exchange

Outreach & Integration

This group is responsible for open science, reaching different populations in Latin America is vital for communicating science and inspiring the next generation of science professionals.

 

Objectives:
  • Outreach for Open Science: Engaging Communities to inspire the next generation of scientists
  • Global Dissemination: Showcasing Latin American Science to Global Audience
  • Integration for Innovation: Connecting Latin Americans “at home” and abroad to address microscopy accessibility gaps

Data Science for Bioimaging

This group is dedicated to fostering the development and application of image data science in Latin America, addressing challenges related to training, infrastructure, computing, and funding while empowering researchers with the tools and knowledge.
Objectives
  • Develop regional training programs in image data science
  • Enhance access to infrastructure and computational resources
  • Promote standards for image data management, analysis, and reproducibility
  • Advocate for funding and collaboration
