We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you. LABI has been selected as one of the 8 grantees in 197 applications for the #OpenInfrastructure Fund by the Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI). This is a significant milestone for us, and we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the collective efforts of our community that made this possible.

Our project focuses on implementing community governance within LABI, aiming to foster openness, transparency, and accountability. We believe that active engagement and open dialogue among our members will strengthen our community and contribute to the advancement of bioimaging in Latin America.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the IOI community for their input in the Fund design and review process. We highlight the Simons Foundation and the University of Buffalo for their contributions that have made this Fund a reality.

As we embark on this journey, we want to invite each one of you to be an integral part of this process. Your insights, experiences, and active participation will be instrumental in shaping the governance and coordination of our community. Together, let’s make LABI’s contribution to open science even more impactful.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support.
